Our Vast Vision
At the heart of The Sanctuary Project is the vision of creating a space that evolves with our community’s needs, fostering connection and inclusivity
To welcome everyone; making the space diverse and accessible.
Cultivating well-being; expanding and improving our meditation, mindfulness, community and Dharma spaces.
Upholding environmentally sound practices of non-harm; green building developments, urban and publicly accessible gardens, eco friendly spaces, and a commitment for a net-zero carbon building.
To care for our team; providing essential housing and accommodation for our resident teacher, our volunteers, invited teachers and creating a home for London’s first Tibetan Buddhist Monastic community. Creating office and workspaces that support our goals.
Supporting a secure financial future through the development of our Guesthouse.
Expanding our education offering; creating new spaces for the varied programmes we offer, from Science and Wisdom Live, to long term Buddhist study, and universal learning activities.
The inspiration: Care Deeply & Be Brave
In 2022, we gathered as a community, hosting workshops to explore our future goals. We extended invitations to team members, volunteers, students, and local community members, welcoming their contributions and ideas for how Jamyang can grow and better serve our community.
Together we discovered and co-created our vision and aspirations. This collaboration resulted in the birth of the Sanctuary Project, a project that began with a humble wish to make the Old Courthouse more welcoming.
